“Here We Woe Again!”: ‘Wednesday’ Season 2 Is Back — But When Does Part 2 Drop?
The goth queen of Netflix is back — and she’s weirder, darker, and even more iconic than before. That’s right, Wednesday Season 2 has officially landed on Netflix, but there’s a (deliciously creepy) twist: the season is split into two parts. Part 1 dropped on August 6, and fans are already crawling the internet for answers about Part 2.
Let’s dive into everything we know so far about this spine-tingling season, what’s coming in Part 2, and when exactly Lady Gaga makes her grand entrance into Nevermore Academy.
Wednesday Season 2 Is Finally Here — Kind Of
After a nearly three-year wait, Season 2 of the Emmy-winning, Golden Globe-nominated series Wednesday finally premiered its first four episodes on August 6, 2025. Titled “Here We Woe Again,” the premiere episode kicked things off with the signature spooky flair fans love — complete with razor-sharp dialogue, mysterious plots, and plenty of Addams family dysfunction.
But just as we were getting warmed up in the foggy woods of Nevermore, the screen faded to black — Part 1 ends after just four episodes. Now the question on everyone’s black-painted lips is: When do we get Part 2?
When Does ‘Wednesday’ Season 2, Part 2 Release?
Netflix has confirmed that Part 2 of Wednesday Season 2 — the final four episodes — will drop on September 3, 2025, at 3 a.m. ET. That’s just under a month of waiting, which gives fans plenty of time to binge Part 1 again (and again), catch up on Season 1, and maybe even rewatch The Addams Family movies for a nostalgia fix.
Lady Gaga Is Coming… But Not Yet
One of the most anticipated aspects of Season 2 is the arrival of Lady Gaga, who plays a mysterious new Nevermore Academy teacher named Rosaline Rotwood.
Fans who eagerly pressed play on August 6 hoping to see Gaga’s grand gothic entrance were left waiting — but not disappointed.
Netflix had already teased in a tweet on X (formerly Twitter) that Gaga won’t appear until Part 2. According to the streaming giant, her character is “a shadowy presence that makes an already eerie hall colder.” Sounds chillingly perfect for Nevermore, doesn’t it?
Her Tudum Reveal Was Legendary
Gaga’s involvement was first revealed in a jaw-dropping moment at Tudum 2025, where she emerged from a coffin labeled “Here Lies the Monster Queen” and delivered a medley of “Zombieboy,” “Abracadabra,” and the Addams Family theme—blended, of course, with her iconic track “Bloody Mary.” That last song, you may recall, is the viral hit that soundtracked Jenna Ortega’s unforgettable Season 1 dance.
Ortega herself joined Gaga onstage during the medley in a moment fans are calling “Netflix history.”
Jenna Ortega on Working with Gaga: “She’s a Powerhouse”
In an interview with PEOPLE, Jenna Ortega opened up about sharing the screen (and stage) with Gaga:
“She’s such a legend and such a powerhouse. Just an incomparable force,” Ortega gushed. “To be able to sit at a dinner table and do nothing and watch her up close — what a gift.”
Though she remained tight-lipped about what’s to come in Part 2, Ortega did tease that Gaga’s scenes are worth the wait.
Meet the New Faces at Nevermore
Aside from Gaga, Season 2’s casting is a feast of fan-favorite celebrities:
-
Steve Buscemi
-
Joanna Lumley (as Grandma Hester Frump!)
-
Anthony Michael Hall
-
Billie Piper
-
Christopher Lloyd (yes, the OG Uncle Fester!)
-
Thandiwe Newton
-
Evie Templeton
-
Haley Joel Osment as “Kansas City Scalper,” a serial killer lurking in the shadows.
Add that to returning stars like Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia), Luis Guzmán (Gomez), and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester), and you’ve got a cast that’s practically to die for.
What’s Happening in Season 2 (So Far)?
Without giving away too many spoilers, Part 1 of Season 2 continues to follow Wednesday as she returns to Nevermore Academy, this time with even deeper secrets to uncover. Her trust issues are worse than ever, friendships are tested, and a new dark presence is slowly creeping its way through the school grounds.
While Season 1 focused on Wednesday’s psychic visions and a mysterious monster, Season 2 explores the eerie history of Nevermore itself, the origin of its founding families, and an ancient evil that may be tied to Wednesday’s own lineage.
Oh — and The Thing still steals scenes without saying a single word.
Fan Reactions: “Gaga Better Be Worth the Wait!”
Social media is ablaze with reactions to the new season. Some fans are loving the new mystery, the deeper character development, and the gothic visuals. Others? They just want Gaga. Now.
“Lady Gaga better be worth this cliffhanger. I NEED Rosaline Rotwood energy in my life,” one fan posted on X.
“Tim Burton holding back Gaga until Part 2 is so evil. I respect it,” another joked.
Mark Your Calendars: September 3 Is Part 2 Day
So there you have it. Wednesday Season 2 has officially kicked off, and if Part 1 is any indication, the second half will be even darker, more dramatic, and far more Gaga-licious.
Make sure to stream Part 1 now on Netflix, and set a reminder: Wednesday, September 3, at 3 a.m. ET — Part 2 drops, and with it, Mother Monster finally enters the shadows of Nevermore.
Until then, we wait… in gloom, in goth, and in style.
🦇 Stay spooky. Stay tuned. And remember — woe is the new wow.
